👤The marker and crayon wood repair set I bought before buying this set. I didn't think those were ideal for deeper repairs. The markers worked well for small scratches, but not for large scratches, and the crayons weren't good for dents, chips, or big scratches. I tried it because of the high reviews, but wasn't sure what it was. It is a set of several tubes of paint and a tube of wood putty. The wood putty is used for deep repairs and the paints are used for shallow repairs. The wood putty was too dry and it wouldn't trowel on very well. The instructions said to mix it well. I didn't think the wood putty was any better or easier to use than the putty, which you can buy at a big box store. The paints were great. They are thick enough to deal with scratches, dents, and chips. The crayons in the other wood repair set were not as good. There is plenty of paint in each tube to last a long time. I'm happy with the paints. I prefer the markers over the paints for very thin, shallow scratches. The paints are too thick for scratches where you don't really need to fill in, but just even out the color. I'm still happy with the kit, but it seems odd to market it as a full wood repair kit, but not include markers.

👤I bought this product to repair the damage caused by my puppy on my floor. The kit includes tubes of different colors that will be used to create a custom color for the repair. The color chart included shows the many shades of color that can be mixed. It is difficult to pick the right color from the chart. I started to use a tiny bit of the colorant to make some combinations on a scrap of paper. I was shown in the bottom of the picture. I decided to email Coconix customer assistance to ask for their expert assistance. Maria was the Customer Success Manager at Coconix. Maria gave detailed instructions on how to recreate the grain of the wood using the colors that I had chosen. The pictures are only shown with the colorant applied. I ran out of the color. Maria at Coconix volunteered to send more colorant so that I could finish the repair for free, after she followed up to check how the repair was going. Coconix does a great job at customer service. I haven't applied the grain or top coat yet because the colorant needs to be completed first. Maria made suggestions about what could be done to restore the top coat. You must be patient and take your time, this product is excellent for a indistinguishable repair. You will get used to using this product after you make some test colors. If you want to get the color correct before you do the actual repair, mix the color, then test it on a piece of scrap or in a remote area. The artist's pallette knife is shown in the picture. The blade is flexible and can be used to level off the filler and create clean lines between the wood floor planks. If you would like a professional grade repair, give this product a try. Take a picture of the damage so that it reflects the actual color. Don't use flash. A cell phone picture with a distant room light is good. Purchase the kit and send the picture to Coconix with the damage description. Take your time to get the best results. Coconix will help you get a great repair.

2. Prime Line 9476 Maximum Security Strike

Prime Line 9476 Maximum Security Strike

The screen rolling tool has a steel roller at one end and a steel roller at the other. It's compatible with both the right and left swing-in doors. It's ideal for adding increased security at vulnerable areas of door. The plate height is extended to allow for a secure installation. The steel has a chrome-plated finish. Fastens deep into the door frame. It is easy to install in less than 30 minutes. You have everything you need to make your home more secure.

Brand: Prime-line

👤I am very satisfied with the plate. The old plate was removed and the new one marked. The screws on the old plate were shorter than the ones on the new ones. The package came with a few screws, but it wasn't a big deal. The package and size screws I received were better for me. If you don't want to break the screws, you need to drill a pilot hole smaller than the diameter of the screw, and drill to almost the size of the screws, so that the wood won't crack. It helps if you have a bar soap, scraper the screw on the bar soap, it reduces the amount of friction and driving Torque, making the job easier on you. The Home Security Door Lock with 8 Screws, Childproof Door Reinforcement Lock with 3 Stop Withstand, and the Inward Swinging Door were all purchased for more protection. You can find it using the ASIN. Thanks.

👤I returned it. The strike would not extend beyond the door frame. The hole for the door latch allowed the anti-jimmy pin behind it to go into the hole in the door strike plate, allowing the in-swing door to be jimmied. Door jimmy is when you use a charge card to open the door without a key. The "maximum security" is defeated by this. You have to be aware of this when the plate is installed, or you could be changing your door from jimmy proof to easy to jimmy.

👤The strike plate is the weakness of the door. The cheap product with the extra long hardened screws in the vertical posts beyond the faade is awesome. To avoid splitting, align and pre-drill first. To bust off my bolt? You need a Sherman tank and a steel door to get in. Folks... The strike plate and screws are the weak part of your dead bolt. The screws and plate are similar to the Main battle tank. Attempting to bust out the door hinges is better. Good luck.

👤I had doors in my house that weren't properly latched. The plate was slightly off, so trying to move it by a hair meant drilling two more holes that would be different from the current ones. The existing holes would be made bigger by any attempt. This product is perfect for inside doors and is labeled for security, which was a blessing for my doors. I could position it so that the door knob would engage and the plate wouldn't overlap the existing holes. The problem was solved. They should make plates with screw holes that can be adjusted.

👤The standard plate used 2 very short screws to secure this plate. The plate has 4ea. The longer screws anchor the plate into the door jam and the 3 12 inch screws anchor the door framing as well. There was only one slight issue. The plate is not as heavy as I would have liked. The thickness of the gatehouse plate on the door is a lot. The plate that came with the door latch was more secure.

3. Saint Gobain ADFORS FCS9831 M Fiberglass Charcoal

Saint Gobain ADFORS FCS9831 M Fiberglass Charcoal

It is easy to disassemble from the mandrel with backing plates. Everything you need for a screen replacement is in the kit. x 84 in. A fiberglass screen. The tool is 140 in x 25 ft. Approximately 2 average size window screens or 1 door are replaced. The screens are Greenguard certified and ortho-phthalate free, making them ideal for environments where people, particularly children and sensitive adults, spend extended periods of time. All screens comply with California law. The screen will not crease. Backed by a limited period. Backed by a limited period.

Brand: Saint-gobain Adfors

👤This is a review for the type. This is the only one I have used and bought. I can't say that everyone will have the same issues that I did, this is how it worked out with the windows I worked with. I have cats, but when I moved into this place the screens were destroyed by pervious owners. After a couple of years, I decided to replace the window frames. I thought they would be a good choice as the cats can get rambunctious when it comes to the birds outside, and they were listed as pet resistant. Let me do all of the good parts first, and then we can talk about what it takes to do the pet resistant version. These are made to order. The material is very strong and it would not be easy for a cat or dog to tear through it. It all comes in a nice little kit. I think there was more screen than there was, but only three standard windows. There is enough spline to do all of the screens. There is a link on the front of the package that will show you how to put them in. It is very simple in theory. Take the screen off, clean out the old spline, pull off the old screen, lay a new screen over, push the spline in the tracks with the tool, Miller time. I understand the term, but I am not a contractor. The problems seem to arise here. The thicker the screen is, the more pet resistant it can be. I mean a lot bigger. The videos show it being folded in half, but it's not as easy to push the spline in. Expect a work out. It takes a lot of effort to get that channel snug enough so that the screen won't pop right out. Everyone in every review here says it is very easy. I think it is for them, but I also think that a lot of them aren't getting the pet resistant version and have the battle to get the spline in the channel like I was. The little plastic tool should be thrown away. It takes forever for it to do what it is supposed to, and it isn't strong enough to push in the thicker material. Get a metal one. You can buy it on Amazon for five bucks. I found it easier to use that than the little plastic tool that it came with. It seems like it can do what it is supposed to do. I don't think animals can tear through it all at once. It is so much thicker that it is a nightmare to install. Minus one for the fact that it is a major pain to install, minus one for the ineffective plastic tool, and minus one to think that the one that does install a screen does. The struggle to install the pet resistant version is covered in the blanket video. I would probably buy more of it to finish the other windows. Tl;dr. It does what it is supposed to, but is ready for a fight. Up a star. They look nice.

Brand: August Home

👤I'm always cautious when a majority of reviews are not "Verified Purchase" and they are all 5 stars. I always place a bit more weight on reviews from verified purchases, even if they are not legit. My two cents are here. I've wanted a smart door lock for a long time because I'm paranoid about being able to remotely lock my door if it's not locked. My paranoia was not helped by the fact that my girlfriend had left the house and forgot to lock the front door. The Lockitron was panned and the August Smart Lock had some issues. It's due to growing pains. I knew it was time to try the new edition of Smart Lock HomeKit when it was released in August. I wanted to thank Amazon for their excellent customer service. I was supposed to get my new lock last week. Disaster struck. The post office's tracking showed that it was delivered to my mailbox, but it wasn't there. I decided to check with Amazon after waiting a couple more days and starting an investigation with the USPS. The service rep ordered me a replacement without questioning my story. I received my replacement shipment today. The USPS finally found my package and delivered it to me today, which I will be sending back to Amazon. Customer service from Amazon was great. It came in a compact package and is heavier than the small package suggests. The lock, manual, and mounting accessories are inside. Most dead bolts are supported. The production packaging is very Apple-like, which is high compliment. The unit is well engineered and large. I like the textured grip surface for turning the dead bolt. The raised ridge shows the position of the deadbolt from a distance. Installation I went for the install of the supported deadbolt because I have one. The installation only involves a few simple steps, and the instructions and illustrations are easy to follow. Remove the deadbolt turn- knob. 2. Attach the appropriate mounting plate to your lock. 3. The metal rod that turns the lock should be put over the plastic sleeve. 4. The August Smart Lock should be put over the whole apparatus and locked with the two levers on each side. 5. The battery can't be drained during shipment if the plastic strip is removed. 6. It sounds more complicated than it is. It's easy to follow. The app setup required a mandatory firmware update. It took about 15 minutes. The operation is related. You are ready to go once you go through the entire setup process in the app. There are 3 ways to control your lock. The August Home app is available for download. 2. Home, Ezzi Home, and Hesperus are HomeKit hub apps. I used Hesperus. 3. The photo shows the voice control via Siri. It's the same thing. Only if you have a newer AppleTV. I couldn't find a clear answer to the question that I had prior to purchasing the unit. The August Smart Lock uses a short range wireless technology. Unless you have a wireless bridge, you can't control the smart lock. A bridge is a device that can speak to the August Smart Lock, but also has internet access, so you can control your lock from the internet. The August Connect is a device. The only way to control your lock remotely before the August Smart Lock was that. The new Smart Lock works with HomeKit, which means it can be controlled from afar. If you have an Apple TV 3rd generation or later, you can control your accessories with a voice command when you're away from home. You can sign in with the same Apple ID on both Apple TV and your device. If you can't get your remote access to work, sign out of the cloud and sign back in. To sign in, you have to go to the settings. I have an Apple TV that can act as a bridge. If you've already set up your HomeKit smart lock, there's not much else to do. Some reviewers mentioned having to restart his/her phone or Apple TV, or sign out and then back into the cloud to get remote Siri to work. I had no issue with it. If you encounter difficulties, try the steps first. This is a great reason to get an Apple TV that does a lot of cool things, instead of paying $80 for August Connect, which only does one thing. The August Home app takes quite a while to get lock status, which is about 10 minutes. Hesperus is a HomeKit app that takes about 1-2 seconds. HomeKit apps don't seem to refresh lock status automatically. The lock status in the app doesn't change until I manually refresh them after I locked or unlocked them. I contacted the developer for Hesperus about this and he apologized. Hesperus depends on the notification sent by accessory to decide when to refresh. Due to the early limitations of HomeKit, most of the accessory won't send notification when the accessory is changed. I'll try to add the ability to manually refresh the state of accessory in the future. The August Home app showed the change in lock status without any issues. This annoying quirk is not present, but it is slower. If you have a lot of HomeKit devices, it would be easier to control them from one app. There was an update on Dec 27th. I had the same concern and know a lot of doors like that. I have to push on the door slightly to open it. I was worried that the motor in the August Smart Lock wouldn't be strong enough to operate the deadbolt. I was wrong. It has not failed to lock the door yet. There was an update on Dec 27th. Climate change can cause the slight misalignment between the strike plate and the latch to get worse. At the end of the review, I will give you an update on this. I'm quite pleased that I've been playing with the lock all night. It has never failed to lock orunlock in the house or remotely. HomeKit functions work well. I'm able to use my voice to operate the status. It has done everything I want it to do. It has been 7 months since I got the lock, and I still like it. There have been a couple of issues, however both have been resolved. The official Home app for HomeKit enabled devices was released with the release of the newios 10. The Home app did not work with the August Smart Lock initially, but it needs a firmware update to work with it. August did not release the update until Nov 3rd, nearly 2 months after the Home app was released. If you are buying the lock right now, this is no longer an issue. 2. I mentioned that my door requires me to push on it. The August Smart Lock had no problems operating in that condition. At some point as the weather got colder, it started having issues with resistance and latching. August sells a deadbolt to help with this issue. The strike plate has a thinner end of the deadbolt to give it more freedom to enter. I ordered one in Satin nickel and it's not available on the August's store. By the time I got it, I realized that I couldn't just swap out the lock on my deadbolt. The whole deadbolt would have to be replaced. I would end up with 2 sets of keys, one for my front door with the new deadbolt, and another set for my original garage and back door locks, because I didn't want to do that. I didn't install the deadbolt from August. It's very hard to find a tapered latch for deadbolts, and that's what Kwikset makes. I was able to locate one. You can find them by searching "Kwikset 80391-003 Deadbolt Latch, Tapered Satin Nickel" The August Smart Lock no longer has any issues after I installed the Kwikset tapered deadbolt latch. The whole saga was a bit frustrating, so I'm subtracting one star from my initial review. It's the same thing. My last update was a year ago. The lock is working. The battery life seems to have improved over time. I've been running on the same set of batteries for the last 4.5 months, and the lock hasn't given me the low battery warning yet. The current state of the product is very good.

Brand: Noco

👤I have been using my Noco for over a year, but had to use it today. My car is notorious for being a battery-drainer and I knew I would need it one day. On Christmas Eve, I found a dead battery, but I am not going to get a new battery. It was no problem because this Noco had me up and running in mere seconds. I have only refreshed the charge every 4 months since I hadn't used it, and it has been a long time since I've used it. I gave one to each of my adult daughters this Christmas because I was so impressed that they could get going immediately if they were stuck. No more stringing jumper cables between strangers' cars on a dark night, no more trying to remember the order of connection between cars, and no fear of just getting out there and doing it on your own. Everyone should have a roadside kit.

👤It should be in the center console of my truck. I opened the console to get something out and it was dead and bloated. It looks like a classic battery failure. It did not set my track on fire.

👤Had high hopes. I kept the battery charged for a few months and it died. I tried to jump my car, but I didn't hit the key. I let the unit charge the battery for a while. The battery on the Noco unit is dead and I checked it out. The Noco boost is dead after I didn't start from my truck. I took the Noco unit home and tried to charge it after jumping from another car. The battery in the unit is only 25% charged after 2 days of being plugged in. I decided it wasn't reliable enough to try a replacement. There are several videos showing issues with this product, so I would highly suggest you look up this unit on YouTube.

👤I drained the battery on my Toyota 4Runner and it wouldn't start, but windows and radio still worked. It was a good chance to try the pack. All of the lights indicated it was ready to go. It was basically the same as not having it hooked up. It's going back because it was found out shortly after it was received. Disappointed but not surprised.

👤One of the top 10 vehicle gadgets I've ever purchased for my car or truck. It's a must have for roadtrips or if you have an older battery. This was bought for our Toyota 4Runner. We had to use this for six months every time we started the truck because the battery we wanted wasn't available. The NOCO was charged properly and never failed. There is a driving tip. For a long road trip, buy one of these. If they drive at night or when the clocks change, buy one for everyone you care about. You won't have to worry about their car battery dying and they sitting in a parking lot or side of the road. It's great for an emergency charge of your mobile device. It has a bright light and flasher. I don't recommend getting into the habit of using it for your mobile devices as you might just need it one day to jump start your car and not have time to charge it. Extra battery charge for your mobile and entertainment devices can be purchased. Just use it for emergencies. They have both small and large models. Bigger is better with this type of emergency device. I would love to try out the other NOCO products. This one is perfect.

Brand: Flux Phenom

👤Works perfectly! It was well worth the money to purchase this item so that our dogs would be able to go in and out freely without having to worry about bugs flying in. Our dogs run right in and out and it magnitizes back together. Definitely would recommend. In the video, you can see that it snaps back together quickly and efficiently.

👤The best magnetic screen I've seen. I have 4 dogs. They can all use it. It's a bonus to keep out the deer ticks and black flies. There is always at least one nice day in the fall and winter, so I don't bother taking them down. I get a full year of use and that's all I can expect. It must be good on my 3rd one.

👤Our dog likes the screen door that we removed and it works as advertised. The material seems good, but I can't rate the durability.

👤I got this 7 months ago and I'm still happy with it. It's faded a bit from the sun beating down. I used a gun staple to attach it to the house, but it's still working great. I can easily sew it back in, even though one of the magnets fell out. It has taken a lot of abuse, from the hot midwest sun to the sub-freezing temperatures, and three German Shepherds racing through it multiple times a day. I still recommend this for anyone who wants to keep bugs out of their house. It's an alternative to a sliding screen door. I would like to have a screen door like this all the time. I will probably replace it with a new one next spring, but I'm very pleased with the quality and ease of use. It's definitely worth it. ___________ I got this because the dogs love spending time outside, but now that it is warm, bugs will try to get inside. I got this today and it is doing what I want - it allows the dogs to go in and out, and keeps bugs out. It was easy to install. I stuck the tacks in a few places. I placed the top center tack after holding it up. It is difficult to get the tacks through the edge because it is reinforced well. It is easiest to push the tacks first. I worked down the side to the bottom to make sure the center could still close. I got a few in the bottom side. I was able to push the tacks a bit, but I used a hammer to finish the job. They are sturdy tacks. We have 3 German Shepherds and they were able to get in easily, and the screen closed nicely behind them. I walked in and out several times and it didn't get sealed after I walked through. Replacing our sliding screen with this will allow us to open and close it. This was exactly what I wanted and it is working great so far.

👤A friend of mine has been using this screen for a long time. Birds and bugs find their way in when my dogs walk through my screen door because they put holes in it. I bought this to solve the problem. It took me less than five minutes to install this. I have been very pleased with this product, it has only been a few weeks. The screen closes after my dogs go into the porch. This summer, my porch will be more enjoyable with this screen.

👤I was planning on using them to fix edge cracks, but I was not sure if they would work over a hole. The thickness listed in the product details is not even close. They are paper thin.

👤These are large pieces of tape. They are easy to apply and less expensive than a new fence panel. After a few weeks in Florida, they are holding up. I used these to patch the baseball holes in the panels. I put tape over the hole. It is not as bad as 60' away but it looks like a piece of tape. It is better than holes, but it is called a repair kit.

👤There is no way that product comes out that good in the pictures. I applied multiple pieces at the same time. The pieces covered the holes in my siding. You don't see the texture of the siding. I am happy with the product. It does not look perfect, but it will do for now. I don't have to paint because I have white siding. It works well with it. The current siding is going to be replaced in the near future.

👤It covers tears and openings. Good sticking power. It is easy to peel and stick. It is similar to paper. Scissors are needed to cut smaller pieces. It looks good.

👤I will be surprised if they last through the first rain. They are glossy. I did not bother painting them yet. I want to know if they will last a week. I am pretty disappointed. I thought they would be more of a vinyl than a bumper sticker, but that is not the case.

👤I had a hole in my fence. I wrapped a sheet of repair material around the picket and covered the hole on both sides. You would have to find where I made the repair. It was a perfect match for the picket's color. There was no need for a painting. That was a big plus for me.

👤You can tell where the patch is by looking at the shape of the hole. It looks better than a hole and appears to be preventing spreading. I don't know what would fix the patch, but I don't want to layer the patches as I'm sure that will make a lump space. I'll look into a solution like a patch but this was quick and easy.

👤I bought the patches to cover the small holes that were made by balls in the backyard. I don't know how well they would work for large holes, but the holes that I was covering were about 1 1/2 to 2 inches in diameter. If you have larger holes, you could double them up.

Brand: Prime-line

👤Works well! The $10 set was enough to replace one screen door. A kid ran through the screen at my daycare. I'm poor and it would cost $65 to replace the whole door. I decided to try it. This woman is amazing at dumbing things down without making you feel like an idiot. I'm a tiny woman with no interest in fixing anything, but my poornes/ cheapness got the better of me and I decided to go for it. If you watch the video first, it will be very easy. There is a new word for it.

👤I was able to install it, despite the instructions being less than helpful. There is a video on how to install a door screen. I could still see the fold lines in the screen even though it was taut when installed. It might be possible to use a piece of cloth over the screen to press them out. The tool is fine, but another reviewer ripped the screen off of it, and he/she must have lost control of it. I was able to force the screen in with no problems by taping the screen up temporarily with masking tape.

👤Prime received this product quickly. The old patio screen door screen was easy to remove. If you're not confident in your ability to achieve the task, you can watch videos on YouTube. I don't recommend using the tool they provide. The plastic is cheap and the wheels are Jagged. I had to patch the screen after I realized the Jagged Edges from the wheel had sliced into it. A brand new screen with no flaws is not enough. Instead of using the tool, use a small flat headed screwdriver or try pressing with your fingers first and then use the screwdriver to finish the job. The fiberglass screen is very delicate and can tear very easily.

👤A cat destroyed our patio screen a few years ago. I decided it was time to fix it. I found a lot of descriptions on how to do it. I decided to give this product a try because none of them were too complicated. The installation of the screen was very easy, just remove the handle, old screen and spline, and the kit comes with a new screen and spline. The screen should be centered over the door and pushed into the grooves. The screen needs to be pulled tight but not so tight that it will rip. The hardest part was getting the door back into the frame, because some door frames have a small rail on the center of the track for the rollers to run on. If you only have it on the top track or bottom track, you should put that one first. Put the door into the track. Move the door to a vertical orientation and use a flat screwdriver to push down the rollers on the other side of the door so that it can be snapped into place. Some people complain about disasters while they fix their screens. The tool was sufficient for the job and I would recommend short strokes while installing the spline. I recommend a sharp box knife for cutting excess screen.

9. Products PC Woody Repair Epoxy Two Part

Products PC Woody Repair Epoxy Two Part

The line size range is.115 to.235. The two-part paste is resistant to dry rot, UV light, fresh and salt water. It can be used in indoor and outdoor applications with a temperature range of 35 to 115 degrees F and a service temperature range of -20 to 200 degrees F. High tack helps reduce drips. If you want to mix PC-Woody part B with PC-Woody part A, you must use a stiff knife. It is not recommended to mix PC-Woody in small amounts simply because of the chance of an off-ratio mix. The work time is 30 to 40 minutes at 70 degrees F. After fully cured, can be painted, stained, and machined.

Brand: Pc Products

👤The first project I did with this was a disaster, but I learned a lot from it, so I will probably do it again. It would have been nice to know that before. The important lessons are 1. Don't use your hand to mix the two parts. You will lose 25% of the mix right off the bat. You need more than 6oz of compound 1 and 6oz of compound 2 to make a 6.1oz mix. This really did catch me off guard, but I'm exaggerating. 3. After I wasted the first batches, I found a way to mix and spread it. Put it in a baggy, mix it, and then cut the corner to squeeze it where you need it. It's annoying to work with if it sticks to every trowel.

👤This works well for repairing wood. It makes it easy to work with. Woody's gives you plenty of time to apply and "tool" the mixed putty, unlike Minwax or Bondo, which only take a few minutes to apply. This works well when you are covering a larger area and need more time to detail. Woody's takes a bit longer to be ready for sanding and painting. I used all three products on the project. After mixing in the hardener, I found that Minwax and Bondo set so quickly that I had to work fast and often felt rushed. The putty would solidify before I could apply it all. The Minwax and Bondo products are great for smaller repairs or other situations where you can apply the material quickly. You can complete those repairs in half a day if you are able to get both of them ready in under an hour. Woody's is best when the repair is larger, more complex or requires a bit more time to apply and shape the material. Woody's is a two-part product and you have to pay attention to mixing close to equal portions. It won't set properly if you have too much of one part and not enough of the other.

👤I was able to fix the large area of dry rot on the wood railing with no experience. It was impossible to get someone to do a small job in my area, so I decided to do it myself. After applying several coats, the product should dry thoroughly between coats. Sanded to finish the job. I was happy to find this product on Amazon and to get reviews from other people in order to find the best product for the job I was doing.

👤I used this to fix a rotted door frame. It was easy to apply and cure the rock. It is easy to sand and drill. Our front door is made of good wood.

👤I've tried a number of different products, including this item, which I bought at a local hardware store, and another product similar to the one I bought. The PC-Woody product was a nightmare to use. The other products have the same consistency of play-doh, and you can mix the ingredients easily by mushing it around with a gloved hand, and you can mold the product and shape it easily. You cannot shape the PC-woody product by hand. If you want to rebuild a sill, you have to reshape it multiple times with a knife until it stops sagging. The additional cost is worth it for the play-doh like products.

10. System Three 1 Quart SculpWood Moldable

Can be shaped and tooled. It can be sanded, carved or machined once cured. Can be shaped and tooled. It can be sanded, carved or machined once cured.

👤This is the most amazing thing in the world. Bondo, plastic wood, and other products have been used to fix holes in wood. I had to fill in a large hole in my door to make way for a new handleset. I was going to have to cut up pieces of wood to match the old cut-outs, then glue them together, because the holes required are entirely different. I was worried that the door might eventually crack because it was so large for Bondo, and because I was down by the sea. A friend of mine recommended this product to me after I described the challenge. I was very pleased with it's performance. You just have to mix equal parts. It stays workable for about 4-7 hours, so there's plenty of time to mold it once it's in place. It is soft and supple, but has enough body to support itself. It cures in about 24 hours. It's not all that sticky when you work with it, so I was concerned about it's ability to adhere. There are chemical reactions involved in wearing plastic gloves, but they are not as sticky as play-dough. I made a couple little balls that were about 1 inch in diameter and placed them on a slab of wood, like a snow man. They tried to break them apart after they cured. I had to hit the little figure with a hammer to remove it from the wood slab, but I wasn't able to break the balls apart, so I wasn't worried about the adhesion. This stuff sticks to the surface. It cures a light brown color and is much lighter than wood or Bondo. It can be painted like wood. It does not chisel like wood, so if you need to make cutouts, it's a good idea to mold these when the material is flexible, otherwise you may need a tool to work the small bits. It's easy to mix and work, it's sandable and paintable, and it's waterproof, but it takes 24 hours to cure.

👤I bought this after getting good results with the EndRot kit. I'm happy with the results of my repairs. There are two tips that will help you. The SculpWood can be applied while the RotFix is still tacky. It helps you get SculpWood to stick to the wood deep in the cracks and crevices by speeding up the job. 2. The directions show how to build SculpWood putty above the surface of your repair. Then carve the excess with a chisel. This is quicker and easier than sanding. The consistency is easy to carve with a chisel, just by pushing the excess material to the shape you want. I didn't try the thinner SculpWood Paste version because my projects involved a lot of vertical surfaces and it was necessary to push the product up into holes. My next project will be outside repairs where the paste might be a better solution.

👤There was an update on 1/5/18. I love the stuff. I've used it for many projects. I used it to fill the hinge slots on the door. I was worried about how it would hold up when making new hinge slots, but it held up well. The door looks like it was never patched after being sanded, routed, and painted. I love this stuff. I've used it to repair rotten wood sections on my roof-line, deck, and door frame. All the spots that I repaired were about 2 square inches deep. I put small screws in the vertical areas, which acted like a reinforcing bar. I put flat sheet metal over the roof-line trim to give it a smooth, flat finish. You can't tell where the patch is between that and sanding. The colors don't match the wood around it. I have yet to find a wood product that is stain-able and matches wood.

11. Prime Line Products 10385 Spacings Deadbolt

Prime Line Products 10385 Spacings Deadbolt

The door strike is designed to replace the standard strike plates with a one-piece combo plate. The door strike provides maximum security. It comes with a combo plate. The hole centers have holes. Installation is quick and easy, and the door strike can be fastened with screws. For a flush install, some drilling may be required. The door strike is made of stamped steel with a nickel finish and is sure to last the test of time. Measure the holes in the center for your replacements. These are designed to be used for less than 6 inches. The door strike is made of stamped steel with a nickel finish and is sure to last the test of time. Brand: Defender Security

👤I replaced the two plates that were only using 2 screws with this one that covers them with 9 screws. I used 4 inch screws from the hardware store because the reviews here showed they may not be high quality. mine looked fine I swapped out the hinge screws on my door for more 4 inch screws because they only used 1/3 inch screws. If you are buying this plate to reinforce your door, you should also replace your hinge screws because the frame will fail and the door will get knocked out.

👤This item is built to last. The screws were great, and you can use your body as leverage on the drill. It was installed easily and perfectly. The large holes allow you to adjust the placement of the strike. I beat the door out of my house after it was installed. The wall the door was attached to was taking the brunt of the impact. The door was not moving a square centimeter, but I could see that the energy was going through the wall. I will buy more of them.

👤This was added to the door. I was able to mount it on top of the frame, which is fine for that location. The original openings in the frame are smaller. You can see the bolt sizes through the large openings of the strike plate, but you don't know why the manufacturer made them that large. I haven't found a model with standard-sized slots. The screws that come with this plate are not very good. The whole point of this plate is that you are using a lot of long screws that reach into the stud framing the door. The screws are light weight and feel like they are made of aluminum. They strip like there's no tomorrow. Whatever you do, spend a few dollars on high-quality screws. I've seen other reviewers agree with me. If you insist on using cheapo screws, use an impact driver; this will ruin your door frame if you shear off the screw heads.

👤I bought a few to keep my door open. These things are very heavy. I tried to break the door frame by putting it in a dummy door, but it wouldn't budge. These are great for added security. I have these on all my doors. I need this to stay safe in a area where home invasions are high. The screws are junk. Don't use them. You should buy yourself long 3/16 Diameter x 3-1/4" length concrete anchor screws. The heavy duty screws will not break off. It's a good idea to first drill holes to prevent cracking the door frame. I screwed the anchor screws in and it split the door frame in two. To make the holes in the strikers plate, use a drill bit. The product is sturdy and will do the job. Don't use the screws that come with the strikers plate if you buy your own screws. They are cheap and will break apart.
