👤This seems to be better than a standard doorlatch. It is a thin metal that bends easily. If you need to remove one of the cutouts for the deadbolt, the powder coating may flake off. I'm happy with this item. When I saw our local HD had the item for $20, I was not happy with the price. Check your local hardware store for this item first.
👤I have been making my house more secure. I was able to reinforce the doors this month because of my budget. I wanted to reinforce the remaining week points, so I had large screws and barricades on all the steel outside doors. I started with a $90 kit from another company and have 5 metal doors. I put the kit on my door. The drill bit they sent me had some issues, but I had another in the garage and finished the door. The kit was perfect. I ordered a few more on Amazon. I saw this one for a fraction of the price and jumped on it. I just got that kit and went to install it on a metal door. It won't fit in the door jamb without some modifications. I tried to fit theedge guards. Part E is in the item diagram. I was not able to put them in the door because I was not able to slide them onto the door frame. The deadbolt and door knob hardware are pressed against each other with a half inch gap between them. I couldn't use any of the pieces from this kit for Door number 2. I tried door number three. I opened the door and fitted the individual pieces without drilling. I was able to use the long door frame reinforcements after having the same issue with the edge guards. I put everything on door number 4. I might put the pieces into the door because they fit well. I tried door number 5 and it fit there as well. Two of the doors did not fit the door frame. This is more my fault than the manufacturers. The manufactures fault is not true. I can't tell if it's a door reinforcement kit or not. I thought I could randomly buy this as well after buying that other $90 kit. The other kit seems to fit your door, and you can buy it. Measure and be prepared to modify the kit. It's probably worth the savings if you're handy. My analysis shows that Part E won't fit on a door with a larger than normal deadbolt. It's made to press up to the small deadbolt circle size. The Schlage Camelot Keypad Deadbolt will not work with my electronic locks. You have a standard door with a standard deadbolt and a decent spacing between the door frame and the door edge, this could be the best kit for you.
👤Would it be a problem to include a paper template? I am paying a lot for 6 strips of metal and some shoddy screws. I didn't have enough clearance so I had to prep my door frame. How much do you prep? I have to try to match the paint. I bent one screw and broke the other. You have to line the bolt holes up so that you can lock your door. I put a few screws in to align it. You can't hold it in place while you close the door and try to line things up, so you have to fit it until you get it. It does exactly what they promised after a lot of time and a lot of agriculture. I feel safe. The broken screws make up the one mark againstturdiness. I got it in place and it seems fine now. I have to finish it to make it look right. Again, if only I knew how it was going to install before I had to do it.
Only one closer comes with a touch button, for use on a single door. Straight forward installation of new doors is easy to install. The lock is 90 degrees right-angle. 👤It was sturdy for my little one, but one pull from an adult on the door brought it down. I believe that having longer screws would help the product. It's small and easy to forget. If you want something to blend in with the door, be careful. This will work. If you have a lot of male traffic, then maybe not for you.
👤When our lock broke, we bought this. The door will be replaced come spring. We didn't want to spend a lot of money or time. The little guy is strong and effective. It was easy to install and it's small, so it's not noticed. Would buy again.
👤The product is easy to install. If you don't know how to use the product, don't blame it. Basic handy skills are what it needs. The product is being claimed to be not strong. What would you expect? Are you going to stay on the door? This is a very good product. It serves the purpose. Excellent purchase.
👤Love it. This is for screen door security. It took me two tries to get it lined up. I got there in the end. I would recommend and purchase again.
👤The 90 degree lock is made from high quality materials. Other products like this that I have used before have had burrs or bends, but not this one. This one slips into place without having to bend or shape the metal. It holds in place without moving. The tolerance is good for the price. The screws were sent with the installation. They fit, but they are a bit small and short. Making it difficult to hold them in place for installation and making their bite/ hold into the frame a bit more shallow than I would prefer. It was well made and functional.
👤I thought it was bigger. This is less than a quarter. I thought it was a joke when I received it. What will I do with this? The lock and screws are small enough to fit a real door. Had I known its true size, I wouldn't have bought it. This is a baby sized lock.
👤The lock was small. It was difficult to install so that the lock wouldn't fall. I put it on the interior pocket door. It's fine for an indoor lock to be locked up. It isn't secure enough to keep someone from getting in. It was a glossy chrome color that I painted over to match the door hardware.
👤I tried. Had it in? It wasn't easy tolatch after it started rubbing. The screws are cheap and you can only use them once or twice. It's better to do hook and eye and call it a day.
👤I can't believe that they can charge over a hundred dollars for a tiny item.
👤I have not seen the item because it was delivered to my son. My son is very happy with the product and the locks work well. It is recommended.
👤No visitors will use the facility because the door for the newly installed WC opens into the hall. After spending hours trying to find a simple latch, I settled on the reviews for this one. We have fitted the dock on the door. I thought it would hold the door more firmly. If the lock were fitted as shown in the picture, my husband would probably bend it out of shape because he likes snatching doors open.
It's ideal for repairs on clothing, leather, upholstery, home décor, sport/marine gear and more. It is possible to seal or repair door frames, windows, vent, toys, appliances, gasket, weather-strip, outside of fireplace doors, shoes and boots. Some rubbers and plastics are included in the bonds. No cracking, peeling or shrinking.
👤Loctite is owned by a German family. They make a lot of things, so you would assume they are competent enough to make a plastic cap that works. They don't. The first time you tighten the cap, the cap splits on the tubes. I bought two tubes on Amazon and one at a blue store. The tube of Silicon was ruined when the caps split first use. I want a tube that I can seal. I contacted Henkel about the problem with pics of both tubes and the lot numbers dot-sprayed onto the tube. I'm not sure how the customer service rep could have cared less. He came back and offered to send me a $5 check via mail. Wow. That's going to change my lifestyle. I love that German warmth. I want a tube that seals when I need it, so I don't have to drive to get a new one every time I need it. I was clear that the only thing I wanted was for him to tell the people in Irvine that they have a problem with their tube caps. The only thing I got was a message from a rep telling me to buy another brand. No problem...
👤The glue is strong but the bottom of the package is not. I read the other reviews and thought I would be more careful with the package than the other buyers. I rolled the tube up from the bottom to make sure it didn't leak or open as I used glue to fix things around the house. It was still leaked. It is messy. I put it in a sandwich bag to try to hold it, but most of it will probably dry up and go to waste because the bottom explodes no matter how gentle you are with this tube. The packaging is a big problem and the product is great.
👤The bottom burst on the first squeeze. I was advised to roll the tube from the bottom up, but I barely squeezed to get it started and the bottom came undone. I was left with a mess.
👤The bottom of the tube is weak and has broken open. I wore gloves, but it still melted at one point. Only one use will be expected. The smell is bad, but hopefully it will go away in a few hours.
👤The bottom of the tube split wide open. If you ignore the smaller diameter nozzles, you'll end up with a mess on your hands from back pressure. I can see that I'm not the only one. I put the burst tube inside a zip-lock baggie but didn't hold out much hope that the leftover wouldn't set on me. Once you get it where you want, it's good thick gel. Even though it was inside a baggie, it was completely set on both ends within 24 hours. I split the tube open and used q-tips to scoop out what I needed and threw the whole thing out. It's not a bargain after all.
The pneumatic tube and attachment come in a high-quality finish to blend in perfectly with the door and frame. Supporting the lid will keep it open. Not soft close! The force is 100N/22.5lb, the length is 9-11/16'', and the travel is between ball mounts compressed. The support lid opens at a 90 degree angle. The working temperature is -12C50C. Instructions and screws are included. The gas strut is okay for a cabinet door. If their soft open LID gas string did not work well, please contact them for an exchange or return. If their soft open LID gas string did not work well, please contact them for an exchange or return.
👤I bought a pack of shocks for the toy chests. My goal was to have it close to my kids so they wouldn't hurt their fingers opening the lid. It does not have a combined 44 lbs rating with using two. These also do not soft close despite some of the other reviews. They give away resistance to a point and cause a bigger danger for my kids. When opening, they offer some assistance, but they can't open the lid because I'm so heavy. I contacted the company because I thought my experience was a mistake. I have only been able to communicate on the fact that what I experienced is normal. This shock is to assist in keeping a lid open, not opening or soft closing. I've seen some reviews on Amazon that have video and my shock looks a little different. I am having a bad experience because I don't know if they recently changed their design. I don't recommend this for kids. It would work well for a very light opening device that doesn't require more than 10 lbs to open or close. If the vendor responds better, I will update this.
👤These are great! We are converting a cargo trailer to a camper. There are two cabinets with top mount doors. We had to take things out and keep the doors open while we put things in. Nothing worked. I decided to bite the bullet and ordered these to try. Wow! I'm very happy I did. These were packaged beautifully and had all the necessary hardware. I feel we got our money's worth because they feel hefty. My husband didn't have any issues installing these. The hinges actually do their job and the install was a clean one. I don't have to hold the doors open with my head or have my husband hold the door open while I get stuff out because once we open the doors with these struts on, they stay open until we physically close them. If you're an American and use the Imperial System, you have to do some configuring if you want the directions for placement to be in metric. No big deal. I didn't find this to be a big issue because of the conversions and easy to do. I highly recommend them. You can see these in action with the photo I included.
👤I put one on the box. It was difficult to open your face while trying to harvest eggs. These were installed in about 10 minutes. I have 2 left and I'm trying to find a place to put them.
👤The "Soft Close" struts were introduced prior to my purchase. The lid-stay struts are not intended to be used for soft closing. The Soft Close variety was introduced by Apexstone. These work well for their intended purpose. I wanted to buy a cylinder to prevent the toychest lid from hitting my daughter. These don't work that way. (Mistakes) These lift lids, cabinet doors, etc. Don't expect them to prevent the lids from closing. If you watch the video, you'll know what I mean.
Fix holes and tears in window screens, screen doors, tent mesh, pool screens, RV screens, and more. The storm and screen door are pneumatic. Swing doors for wood or metal. 90 degree opening. Swinging doors for wood or metal. Swinging doors for wood or metal.
👤It took 10 minutes to install. It works like a charm and now the storm door closes on its own. It was great for the price. I put it on the door for a couple months and it's still going strong. A lost door closer is a great price.
👤The pneumatic part of my screen door had stopped working. I bought this to replace it. It was easy to replace, but the new one slams the door shut in the last few inches, causing a loud bang. I have to stand there and wait for it to close so that I can buffer the final closing.
👤The instructions were easy to understand and the closer was easy to install. I followed the instructions to move the pin because it did slam in the last inch. I adjusted it and didn't slam it, and it worked great for about six times, until I opened it and heard a thump. It slams in the last inch after that. You can see and hear the video I uploaded. If you have the metal bar in the middle of the door, you can get the gray lubricant on your clothes easily. If you wipe the lubricant off, it won't help the door.
👤I am a teacher mom with two kids and will be home for the summer. I was worried that my little one would get outside or our indoor cat would get hurt if the door was not locked. I did it by myself in 10 minutes, and it would have taken less time if my kids were in another room. Our door will not swing open because I set it to close very quickly so I can make sure it closes completely. This was a game change for our family.
👤The closer was installed on my storm door. It failed to close the door from the beginning. The storm door was wrenched open by the wind during a particularly windy day and the rod that secures the door bent and the screws were torn out of the door jamb. The wind slammed the storm door shut, causing a large dent in my metal entry door. I ordered a replacement closer with few options. I used screws that were screwed to the framing rather than the ones that were provided. The new closer will not close the storm door far enough for it to open, which will cause us to manually open the door each time or risk further damage. I can't recommend this product.
👤Teenagers forget to close the screen door. My sanity was restored by this inexpensive fix. Before installing, I read the instructions and assembled it without installing it to give me an idea of how I wanted it to look. I pre-drilled the holes to make sure I didn't ruin the screws. It took me 15 minutes to install it. The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars from me is that the door slams or doesn't close, I've tried to adjust it and can't seem to get the sweet spot where it will close without slamming the door. I like that the door is closed and I don't mind the slamming.

👤I am using this to fix plastic panels in a car that have tab sockets missing or cracked. I have found that this plastic is good for shaping thicker missing pieces, but it's almost useless for strengthening an existing tab sockets, because my work was just too thin to use this material. I discovered that the existing tab sockets can be strengthened with epoxy, but it's terrible at replacing the missing material. I have a complete working panel if I use this plastic to form the missing parts and strengthen it and the cracked sockets. I needed both. I like how this material can be sanded and shaped. I am using Gorilla 2 Part Epoxy.
👤I worked the putty and it never hardened. When I contacted the company to see if they had any tips on why it didn't work, they suggested I purchase the product again and clean the surface. I cleaned the surface. Maybe it's good for soft plastic and not hard plastic, or maybe you need to work the putty for 20 minutes. I needed a plan of action to purchase and try again. Buying again seemed like throwing good money after bad.
👤I used this to fill equipment holes in my truck. It was used by the police in Texas and when they removed all the lights, radios, and cameras, it left over 20 holes. I cleaned and filled the holes with this putty after removing all the trim. I sanded them all and prepared them for painting. Some manufacturers have paint that matches the original interior colors of plastic and vinyl. You never knew where the holes were after painting. This is a great stuff that can be sands and painted. I will use this on my next vehicle.
👤My car's smart key broke. I was able to fix it and save $150.
👤This was a pretty good way to fix a plastic bumper. I had to do 3x rounds of applying sand and shape, but I finally got it to be a 7 out of 10. I had some air bubbles. Unlike Bondo, this is hard to form to the dent as you can't sand it after. You have to sand and sand and sand. If you want a permanent fix for a plastic bumper, this is your stuff.
👤My wife hit something solid with the front bumper of her car. The cut was six inches long. I tried to blend it in using regular glue and paint, but I couldn't seal the cut. I realized that the one piece of the solution I had been missing was the J-B Weld PlasticWeld when I saw it. I used white fiber duct tape to cover the backside of the bumper after I pushed it together as closely as I could. I made sure that the duct tape and undamaged edges of the cut were protected by putting the putty into the front of the cut. I probed the putty to see if it stuck to the tape and the bumper after it dried. It was a simple process of sanding it down and applying the proper paint to blend it in. It's done! You couldn't tell if the bumper had been damaged. If you hadn't tried this simple solution, this repair would have caused you to buy a new bumper. I tell myself that thousands of people have solved the same problem before me when I have a problem that I haven't attacked before. Is they smarter than me? Maybe a lot of them. I think about what needs to be done and come up with a plan. If we just think about how to do it, we can fix a lot of things. Chances are that you will learn something from making the effort, even if you don't succeed on the first attempt. Try again with your new knowledge. You will get it worked out after a few tries.
Measure the bottom of the door, cut the excess seal, clean and dry the surface, peel off the backing film, and apply the strip to the door. You will be amazed by the results if you take a couple of these steps. Protect your doors long time with a strong door draft stopper. The doors should not be opened or closed within 24 hours after installation. NoISE REDUCTION The seal on the door is special. Clean and quiet your room. Money and energy can be saved. 👤The one I ordered has 3M tape on the back. Does not have 3M tape. It was very misleading.
👤This item is made of silicone and has nice flex to it. There are several things to remember. . Make sure your door is clean. There is a You want it to touch the bottom. You want to make sure that it isn'tragging, as it will cause it to come loose. There is a You need to wait 24 hours before you can open and close the door. You may want to press on the strip every now and then. There is a If your door has a rough texture, you will need to use screws and nails. It is 39” long by 1.9” tall. I think it's more like 1.75” tall. I use an outdoor patio closet door that was too short when it was installed. critters getting into the closet are something I have had issues with. This has done a good job of keeping them out.
👤My house was built in 1950. There are gaps between the doors and the door frames even though the house was renovated. I can see daylight with the storm doors shut. I bought this strip for the side that opens, not just for the bottom of the doors. I attached the strip to the back door after trying it out. If the strip holds up, it will block hot air from entering and cold air from entering too. I have to buy more because the strip isn't very long. I'm also buying some for my front door. I don't need a high heating bill because it gets cold here. It's cold this morning. This insulation was easy to install. If you make a mistake, you can quickly remove it. It will remove the paint from your door. If the strips hold up, I will update this review. I attached the strips to my front door on the side that opens and at the top after receiving more of them. If you are going to attach a strip to the top of the door, be sure to turn the strip upside down and not on the frame. I almost made a mistake, but I caught it. You won't be able to open the door if you don't do it this way. If your door opens out, you should apply the strip to the inside frame, not on the door. Everything got quiet all of a sudden after I attached the strips to my door. It's in my neighborhood. I didn't hear birds or the breeze. These strips work well. It will be interesting to see how long they hold up, especially when winter comes and I have the heat on.
👤I provided a before and after picture of an interior door that needed something. I had to remove a piece of trim from the bottom because the door kept sticking to the bottom. It was sticking to the trim so removing it worked, but it left an ugly appearance when the door was closed. I have lived in this house for five years and never painted it. I dislike painting so that could be the reason. I have used these before for other purposes and it occurred to me recently that this would be a great solution here as well. It will hopefully provide some insulation in the room as it gets colder near the door in the winter. It took five minutes to install, and it definitely looks better. If you put the glue on a little crooked, you can fix it without any consequences.
There is a back set for either 34" or 1". Touch the button to hold the door open. Simply push the door farther open. The hold open button will release when it's time to open the door. Pressing the button will only hold the door open. Smooth closing technology removes the bounce from your closing door and makes it easy to get through. Simple replacement for many companies. Only one closer comes with a touch button, for use on a single door. Straight forward installation of new doors is easy to install. Only one closer comes with a touch button, for use on a single door. Straight forward installation of new doors is easy to install.
👤The set that I ordered was the same price. If you have a door with two pistons, you should replace them at the same time. I didn't need to change anything on my hardware. This set is a newer system that closes the door in one smooth sweep, rather than stopping the door partway, bouncing, then easing it closed with a controlled slam. If your old pistons are still working, I would recommend replacing them.
👤A door closing that doesn't hit you in the foot as it closes. Two days after ordering, I received and installed an excellent product. Would have fit the original brackets. I installed the new ones. The door is better than it was when it was new. You can enter at a rapid rate before getting hit in the back or getting your foot caught in the door, which is different from other closes. I bought a second set for my other storm door after the first set worked well.
👤The bottom piece broke right away when my husband installed it. The return window had closed. He was very nice and sent a replacement. Within a couple of weeks, this one broke as well. I don't know if they will send another. The product is very smooth and works. The plastic piece doesn't go in the closed direction when you need to open the door. That is it! It is hard not to break it when you have kids around. I don't think it's a well thought out design.
👤They work better than the standard ones and cost a little more. I had to modify the mounting position a bit because of the different hole alignments that were installed during door installation, but they worked well and effectively out of the box. The door now opens with little effort and closes quickly, allowing time to enter the home. Every time the door closes, itlatches. Something it didn't do before. The touch to hold open function works well, but it does bring about one issue. One closer has the ability to hold the other. The door is full glass and on the heavy side, it puts a lot of pressure on the door jamb brackets. I would like to see the hold option on the closers to distribute the weight between them. I will likely find a way to assist the hold open when needed to prevent a possible failure, because the feature gets limited use. I would buy the closers again if needed.
👤Even though we purchase a lot of items from Amazon, I don't bother writing a lot of reviews. We've enjoyed the heavy larson security storm door that I spent several hundred dollars on. I started looking to replace door closings after 3 years. I've tried a few brands and they were not very good, so I messaged the company and they responded quickly and assured me that the Touch n hold smooth closures would work. That was a lot. These closings are amazing. The door is easy to install. Each and every time, it closes smooth and completely. The door uses 2 and I put the push button at the bottom of the door, if you tap it with your foot it will hold the door. It's much easier to deal with the old washer. We love the new security storm door.

👤Doesn't fit our crank from 1991. The design on what we received is different from the Andersen one and it does not fit. We have no use for it since it is outside of the return window. I will go through Andersen to buy the part.
👤The handle is great. It fits well and matched my other Anderson window handles, but I didn't leave 5 stars because I found a cheaper version in the store and it took some wind out of my sails.
👤The Anderson casement windows were 30 years old. They are the same as the original handles. The only problem I had was that the replacement handles were not as tight as the original ones. When I first turned the crank, there was a crunching sound where the handle met the stem from the operator. When you turned the crank, you could see paint and metal coming off. Untightening the screw made it easy to pull the handle out and re-tighten it. It works like a charm now. I don't think there is anything that can go wrong with this. You should be good to go if you lubricate the mechanism every now and then.
👤The handles fit my windows perfectly. The new handles made it easier for my windows to open and close. The crank well was not engaging because the spline in the original handles had worn. The new handles are a perfect match. The handles are very high quality and the price is great. If you are thinking of replacing your Anderson windows because they are hard to open and close, please replace the crank handle and lubricating the pivot mechanism first.
👤We have been in our house for 30 years and have lost some of the Anderson window cranks. It was time to replace them because we were getting ready to sell. I looked at a lot of places online, but these were the best value. They arrived yesterday and were installed quickly. They look exactly like the originals. This was a great choice.
👤I became the repair man for the whole house when I rented an apartment. I bought these as a replacement after a year with semi stripped handles. They were easy to install with a screwdriver. I will recommend one thing. I'll probably have to replace the entire window hardware. The new handle can only do so much if the male gear attachment is in bad condition. Even though it is tight, you will still find some play in it. Everyone, best wishes.
👤The screw tip is not compatible with my casement window crank. The tip of the screw is not pointed. The original crank of the Crestline window crank post has a pointed tip that wears down and doesn't fit into the knurled post edge. The replacement screw width is thick, which means it was intended to be used where a post HOLE exists for it to match/fit into, not just touch a surface flatly or on a contour.
👤We have a bay casement window in our family room addition. The screws had become stripped and the handles had broken. Since the window is so old, cranking with a broken handle has become impossible for me since I have arthritis in my hands. I was happy to find them on Amazon, I didn't think it would be possible to replace them. They are doing a good job.

👤This is great. I've been using it for more than five years to do basic repairs. There are a few tips for those who gave bad reviews. The mixing ratio must be correct because it is an epoxy and it must be cut with a knife. It will become less elastic over time so only cut as much as you can. 2. It should be mixed thoroughly. You usually finish kneading in about 2 minutes. There should be one color. Once it is in the right spot, apply immediately and stop touching it. 3. Wait until the cure time is over before allowing it to get stressed out. 4. If you can, keep the unused portion in the original container. 5. If you use an old product that has sat for a while and feels hard, put it in the oven for 15 minutes to warm it up. It will mix well. I live with it because I've found nothing better. It's expensive to use freely. If it weren't so expensive, I could reform parts or fill gaps. 2. It's kind of waterproof. It won't stain but will paint like wood. 3. Shelf life isn't great. I would buy a lot of it to make sure I always have some, but it doesn't last past 2 years. It's best suited for wood. There are other products that work better for general repairs.
👤The ikea display cabinet they bought was broken during delivery because it was shrink wrapped too tight and the hinges were ripped off. This was the best option for repairs because the holes were damaged and not just stripped. Handling playdoh is the same as using it, it's easy to use and not messy. It will never set if you fold it together before you use. The perfect tools for filling in the holes were a knife and comb. You can poke pilot holes before it sets.
👤You will not regret buying this if your dog chews. The product saved my butt. Our dog wanted to prove that he can ruin anything if he puts his mind to it. He chewed the siding on the house. I saw this product and thought it was worth a try, so I was going to hire a handyman. The product is easy to use. I was able to repair it in one day because it dries fast and I was able to paint over it. It smells like peanut butter so be careful not to leave it somewhere that pets or kids can reach. I'm pretty proud of my repair. Probably saved a few hundred dollars. Product is ready for paint after being dried to a cream color.
👤Superb stuff for basic repairs. It's very easy to work with and it's easy to make something that's rock-hard. I used it to mold it into a shape that would fit into the undamaged wood surrounding it. There are two things with that said. 1. If at all, the stuff takes stain well. I saw that it was best to mix the stain with the wood while I was kneading it to get it ready for use. I wish I'd done that. The stain took forever to dry and I'm not sure if it will ever cure. I'm not sure if I want to seal it. It's a huge drawer, will rarely move, but I could see the stain coming off if you had to hold it tightly to pick it up or move it. 2. When it is hardened, it becomes hardened. It is very difficult to sand after it has hardened, so you should make sure it is in its final form before it is fully hardened. I did this, so I have no regrets. There are a couple of small waves that I thought could be smoothed out with sand, but this proved to be very difficult. I let it go because these are small issues. It is highly recommended with the cautions.
An average single window has an R-value of less than 10%. Wright Products standard-duty pneumatic door closer is designed for out-swinging light-to-medium weight storm, home, or security doors. The door closers are 12-5/8” long and 1 1/2” in diameter. For heavier storm and screen doors, use a single closer for light to medium weighted doors or pairs for heavier storm and screen doors. DURABILITY The door closer has a high level of resilience that can handle repeated opening and closing. It is adjusted. You can change the closing speed and force with a screw at the end of the pneumatic tube. The door can be opened in 90 degrees before it closes at a controlled pace, thanks to the fully lubricated spring. By using air within the pneumatic tube to cushion the force of the door, it prevents it from slamming and preserves the life of the door frame. All installation hardware is included, no additional parts are required. There is an option to switch between a glass or screen insert. The pneumatic tube and attachment come in a high-quality finish to blend in perfectly with the door and frame. 👤I needed a new closer for my front porch screen door. I have tried every trick in the book to keep the door from closing on the last part. You can slow it down with the adjustment screw, but once it reaches the no resistance part, it slams shut, no matter what speed you have it at or what hole it's connected to. My older one never did it that forcefully. I bought this a while back and am looking for a new one. This is bothering me a lot.
👤The Andersen 3000 series screen doors have self-storing half-screen w/glass type, a black one for the front, and a white one for the back. The closer the doors are, the less they open to a full 90 degrees. It was driving me insane. I got this as a replacement. The Andersen has a lock switch that will hold the door open, but this one has an old fashion tab. The stock closer had to go because the foot tab was not convenient and not opening to a full 90 degrees was a deal breaker. I removed the two pins from the closer I already had and used the pins in the package to put it in. I adjusted the pneumatic part so it closes a little quicker, and it works great! There are two holes on the tip of the closer, one for a glass door and the other for a screen door, and the directions state that one is for a glass door and the other is for a screen door. The hole labeled for the screen door worked better than the one labeled for the door at the end. I didn't use the brackets that came with this, but they were cheap and weak compared to the brackets that were included with the Andersen door. It's advertised as a "standard-duty" closer and the brackets probably would have worked fine anyway. I'm happy because the doors are now open for 90 degrees.
👤A storm about 3 weeks ago flung the door open and bent the closers, just a year after I installed an Anderson 2000 storm door. I received this a few days ago and it has improved. 1. This is a perfect fit, even though it is a thicker barrel. I was able to use the mount that was on the door. It would have been installed on the jamb, but it was damaged by the wind. It was necessary to replace the jamb brackets with the one included with my purchase. 2. The upper closer from the same manufacturer was put with the lower heavy duty closer. I adjusted the top to close hard and the bottom to close soft, which worked better than trying to get both to close at the same force. The door closes whenever it is latched. I couldn't get the Anderson closers to do this. 3. The door is not as prone to blow open in the wind now that it feels heavier. I installed a chain that was able to loop onto the upper closer pin. It's only been a few days, so I can't say for sure. I will update this review if they fail early. No update means they are still working.
